About RookieDesk

The checklist, the odds sheet, the date we checked.

RookieDesk covers baseball, football and basketball card releases for collectors in the US. We read the manufacturer's checklist and odds sheet for each product, put the numbers in one place, and link every one of them back to its source.

How we work

Odds come from the manufacturer

Every odds line we print is copied from the odds sheet Topps, Panini or Upper Deck publishes for that product, with the box format it applies to. We never estimate odds from openings or forum posts.

Checklists from the official list

Card numbers, rookie designations and parallel print runs come from the manufacturer's checklist. When the official list and a retailer disagree, we say so and use the official list.

Every price has a date

Box prices, grading fees and sale prices (eBay sold listings, 130point) are snapshots. Each one carries the date we checked it and links to where it came from.

Data, not investment advice

We tell you what is in a box, how often a card is inserted and what a grader charges. We do not tell you what to buy, hold or sell, and we never predict prices.

What we cover

  • Product hubs: checklists, odds and case hits per release
  • Box formats: hobby, jumbo, value, hanger, mega and more
  • Weekly and monthly release calendars
  • Rookies and prospects: which cards, which parallels
  • Grading: PSA, SGC, BGS and CGC fees and turnaround
  • Beginner guides: parallels, serial numbers, resealed packs

Hockey, soccer, racing and non-sport cards are outside our scope for now.

Who writes it

RookieDesk Editorial

RookieDesk Editorial

RookieDesk covers baseball, football and basketball card releases for collectors in the US. Each article starts from a source file of manufacturer checklists, odds sheets and product pages (Topps, Panini, Upper Deck), grading company fee pages and dated sale data, and every number in the article maps to a linked source. Prices carry the date they were checked. RookieDesk publishes data, not investment advice. When the data is thin, the article says so.

RookieDesk fact-check

Before publishing, each fact in a RookieDesk article (checklist numbers, odds, box contents, release dates, fees, prices) is matched to a row in the article's source file and the quoted passage is checked on the live source page. Facts that cannot be matched are removed. Prices show the date they were checked.

RookieDesk uses one editorial byline on purpose. We do not invent writers, credentials or box breaks: when an article mentions what collectors saw in a pack, it quotes and links the person who posted it.

Independence

RookieDesk is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by Topps, Panini, Upper Deck, MLB, the NFL, the NBA or any players association. We do not use their logos. Product, team and player names are trademarks of their owners and appear only to identify the cards.

We carry no affiliate links, ads or sponsored posts today. If that changes, this page and every affected article will say so.

Corrections and contact

Manufacturers revise checklists and graders change fees. When a fact in a live article changes, we fix it in place and add a dated note under the introduction.

  • admin@rookiedesk.com: factual corrections (send the article and your source), takedown or copyright requests, privacy and legal matters.
  • contact@rookiedesk.com: general questions, feedback and suggestions for releases to cover.
