Sports Card Release Calendar 2026: Oct and Nov Dates

A sports card release calendar is only as good as the page it was copied from, so this one says where each date came from and when we checked it. Every baseball, football and basketball release we could date for October 12 to November 30, 2026 is below, from Topps, Panini and Upper Deck, checked October 10, 2026.

TL;DR: Topps' calendar has Update Series Baseball on October 14, Heritage Football and Holiday Baseball on October 21, Holiday Football on October 23, Cosmic Chrome on November 4, Flagship Basketball on November 5, Inception Football on November 6 and Museum Collection on November 11. Bowman U Best Football is October 30 per Topps Ripped. Panini's site shows "Coming Soon" without dates; its dates here are secondary. Upper Deck lists no baseball, football or basketball product for these months.

PATCH: Updated Oct 10, 2026: re-checked the dates against Topps' calendar, product pages and Topps Ripped (including the October 9 Holiday Football guide) and corrected four Checklist Insider dates.

Sports card release calendar: the short version (quick answer)

For October and November 2026, Topps has the most dated releases: eleven on its own calendar, product pages and Topps Ripped, from Midnight Football on October 12 to Museum Collection on November 11. Panini's products carry dates only on secondary calendars such as DK Network and Checklist Insider. Upper Deck's site lists no baseball, football or basketball release for the period.

Key Takeaways

• Topps dates are official: taken from topps.com's release calendar, product pages and Topps Ripped, each marked with the check date.
• Panini dates are secondary: Panini's product pages said "Coming Soon" with no date on October 10.
• Upper Deck: no baseball, football or basketball product on its own site for October or November.
• Moved dates: Flagship Basketball (October 22 to November 5) and Museum Collection (October 7 to November 11).
• Preorder is not release: many dates you see online are presale openings, not street dates.
• Check again in release week: Topps' calendar carries the note "*Dates subject to change."

Overview

This calendar is the hub for RookieDesk's release-date coverage. It follows one rule: the manufacturer's page wins. When Topps' calendar, its product page and its box guide disagree, we say so and use the calendar and product page when they agree with each other.

Three kinds of source feed the tables:

1. Topps' release calendar and product pages. On October 10, 2026 the Topps release calendar (the UK mirror of topps.com) listed dates for Topps baseball, football and basketball products. Later that day both topps.com and the UK mirror returned a Cloudflare check to our browser, so the calendar rows below are from the morning read and carry that date.
2. Topps Ripped. Topps' own editorial site publishes a box guide or collector guide for most releases, with the formats and sometimes a street date.
3. Secondary calendars. DK Network's October calendar (updated October 9) and Checklist Insider's release calendar fill the gaps, mostly for Panini. We label every such row "secondary."

This page is not a buying guide. It tells you when product is scheduled and what each box contains, not whether to buy it. For what the different boxes guarantee, see our guide to sports card boxes explained.

This Week's Releases

The week of October 12 to 18, 2026 opens with two Topps dates. Topps' calendar lists 2026 Topps Midnight Football on Monday, October 12 at 3:00 PM UTC with a pre-order link, and 2026 Topps Update Series Baseball on Wednesday, October 14. Secondary calendars add Panini's 2025-26 Select Basketball on October 14 and Topps Chrome Samurai Japan Baseball on October 16.

Midnight Football is a pre-order date. DK Network wrote that "Topps has not yet announced the First Day Issue box configuration, pricing or standard release date," and Checklist Insider lists a November 6 date. Treat October 12 as the day the Topps listing opens, not the day boxes ship.

The Panini dates this week are the shakiest. DK Network lists Prizm WNBA Hobby Mega on October 16, while Checklist Insider's 2026-27 basketball hub shows October 2 for the same product. Select Basketball's October 14 appears on both DK's and Checklist Insider's calendars, but neither date is on a Panini page we could read. If you are waiting on either product, check the retailer or Panini's own listing in release week rather than relying on one calendar.

Update Series is the one release this week with full official data: a 350-card base set, four box formats in Topps' box guide and a nine-column odds sheet. Our 2026 Topps Update Series checklist and odds guide has every format, and the rookie list is in 2026 Topps Update Series rookies.

Release Dates by Month

Each table lists the date, the product, the maker and where the date came from. "Topps calendar" means the topps.com release calendar read on October 10, 2026; "Ripped" means a Topps Ripped article, with its own publication date.

October 2026 release dates

November 2026 release dates

The latest Topps baseball, football or basketball date we recorded from Topps' calendar is Museum Collection on November 11. Topps Pro Debut Baseball has a preorder date of October 19 on DK Network's calendar and no published release date.

Release dates by sport

Baseball. Topps carries the baseball schedule on its own. Update Series opens it on October 14, Holiday Baseball follows on October 21, Cosmic Chrome on November 4 and Museum Collection on November 11. Two more baseball dates come only from secondary calendars: Chrome Samurai Japan on October 16 and Five Star on October 28. Allen & Ginter, released October 7 according to DK Network, sits just before this window. Panini's only baseball entry is Three and Two, which Checklist Insider places on November 13.

Football. Football is the busiest sport in the window and the most mixed. Topps has Midnight Football's pre-order on October 12, Heritage Football on October 21 with mega boxes on November 4, Holiday Football on October 23, Bowman U Best on October 30 and Inception on November 6. Panini's football dates are all secondary: Obsidian on October 21, Donruss and Absolute Countdown Calendar on October 28 and Mangaverse on November 25.

Basketball. The NBA side is thin until November. Topps' first 2026-27 Flagship Basketball release is the big date, November 5 on Topps' calendar, with mega boxes on November 12 per Checklist Insider. The other basketball dates are Panini products on secondary calendars: 2025-26 Select Basketball on October 14, and three WNBA releases, Prizm on October 16, Impeccable on October 23 and Crown Royale on November 18.

Upper Deck. No row. As covered below, Upper Deck's own pages list hockey and other sports, not baseball, football or basketball, for this window.

Topps releases: what each box holds

These notes come from Topps' own box guides and collector guides on Topps Ripped, read October 10, 2026.

Heritage Football (October 21; mega November 4). Topps' Heritage Football box guide lists three formats. Hobby is 20 packs of eight base cards "with one autograph or relic card in every box." Value has eight packs of eight and Mega 17 packs of eight. Each format has its own border parallel: Dark Gray Border, Flip Stock and Black Border in hobby, Dark Green Border in value, Red Border in mega. The product page splits the date: "Hobby & Value Boxes available October 21, Mega Boxes available November 4." Our 2026 Topps Heritage Football checklist guide counts its rookies and hit sets.

Holiday Baseball (October 21). Topps' box guide lists a 200-card base set and three formats. The Hobby Mega Box has 10 packs of 10 base cards "with one autograph, relic, autographed relic, or Base Chrome Variation card in every box." The Collector Tin comes three tins per box at 59 cards per tin, and the Advent Calendar has 24 packs of five cards.

Holiday Football (October 23). Topps calls it "A debut release." Its collector guide, dated October 9, describes a 200-card base set "including 150 veterans and 50 rookies," led by Fernando Mendoza.

Bowman U Best Football (October 30). College players, one format. Topps Ripped lists four packs of 10 cards per hobby box, "Four autos per box" and "Release date: October 30, 2026," in a guide dated October 2. The base set is 100 cards on Chrome, and the guide adds "12 boxes per case," with "One Best of the Best or Campus Crests insert per case."

Cosmic Chrome Baseball (November 4). Topps' product page says "Available November 4." The official odds sheet lists ten Planetary Pursuit tiers, from Sun at 1:120 to Pluto at 1:28,000 in hobby; our 2026 Topps Cosmic Chrome Baseball odds guide has the full table.

Flagship Basketball (November 5). Topps' box guide lists seven formats, from a hobby box of 20 packs of 12 cards "with one autograph or relic in every box" to a 24-card fat pack. Topps lists "300-card Base Set featuring 200 veterans, 40 rookies, 30 team combo cards, and 30 retired players." Checklist Insider reported Topps presale prices from October 6: hobby $169.99, jumbo $339.99, mega $59.99 and value $29.99. Those are presale prices from a secondary source.

Inception Football (November 6). The product page says "Available November 6." Topps' collector guide, dated October 2, lists Fernando Mendoza as the headline rookie and two new parallels: Gold Electricity "capped at 50 copies" and Hot Pink "numbered to 35 copies."

Museum Collection Baseball (November 11). Topps' collector guide, dated October 1, describes "a 100-card base checklist alongside framed autos, jumbo relics, and multi-swatch cards." Topps' calendar shows November 11; the October 7 date that earlier coverage carried is gone.

Dates that moved, and how to tell a preorder from a release

Treat a date as settled only when the maker's calendar and product page say the same thing, and even then the calendar says "*Dates subject to change." Two Topps products moved this fall, and a third is dated only by secondary calendars.

2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball. Topps' Flagship Basketball box guide, dated September 28, says "Street date: October 22, 2026." DK Network's October calendar, updated October 9, still described "the standard October 22 release." Topps' calendar ("Thursday, 5 Nov") and product page ("Available November 5") both said November 5 on October 10, so this calendar uses November 5. The preorder moved too. A September 28 post on r/basketballcards laid out the history: "Topps announced that Topps Flagship will be on preorder on September 22nd," then "Moved it to the 29th," then "Moved it again to October 6th."

2026 Topps Museum Collection Baseball. DK Network reported that it "is no longer scheduled for October 7. Topps has moved the release to November 11." Topps' calendar matches.

Five Star. DK Network and Checklist Insider both list Five Star Baseball on October 28, but it is not on the Topps calendar rows we read, so the date stays secondary until Topps lists it.

Preorder versus release. Many dates in circulation are presale openings. Allen & Ginter opened preorders on Topps.com on September 8 for an October 7 release, per DK Network. Inception Football shows a preorder on DK's calendar in early October and "Available November 6" on Topps' page. Use these steps on any new date:

1. Find the maker's own date. Topps product pages say "Available [date]"; the Topps calendar lists the day and sometimes a time.
2. Check the calendar and product page agree. If they do not, report both, as with Flagship Basketball.
3. Separate the formats. Mega and retail boxes can ship later than hobby, as with Heritage Football mega boxes on November 4.
4. Look for the word "pre-order." A preorder date is when you can order, not when boxes ship.
5. Check again in release week. The note "*Dates subject to change" is printed on the calendar for a reason.

Panini and Upper Deck: what their own sites show

Panini. Panini America's site has a release-calendar address, but on October 10, 2026 it showed no product list to our browser. The 2026 Donruss Football hobby page was readable and said "COMING SOON" with no date. It lists 10 cards per pack, 12 packs per box and 12 boxes per case, and "1 Autograph 1 Memorabilia 12 Parallels 6 Optic Base/Parallels 36 Inserts per box, on average!" That is why every Panini date in the tables is secondary. Checklist Insider dates Donruss Football to October 28.

Upper Deck. Upper Deck's sports page describes "official trading cards and memorabilia for the NHL, PGA TOUR, AEW, and more." We found no Upper Deck baseball, football or basketball release for October or November 2026 on its home, sports or trading-card pages. DK Network lists a Metal Universe SE Multi-Sport product on October 14 under Upper Deck, while Checklist Insider's calendar names it Skybox; neither appears on Upper Deck's own pages we read.

Community: how collectors track dates

On October 1, u/ClevelandBubu asked on r/baseballcards: "Did Topps quietly push back the release date by a month? The website now says November 11" (thread). The Flagship Basketball preorder history above came from u/aFriendlyAlien (thread). And in a 2025 thread on finding preorder dates, u/Suspiciousplan8 wrote: "I check the Topps Twitter account every Monday, which is the fastest and most reliable way to get their schedule for the week. Emails are hit or miss" (comment).

Our take

Based on the pages above: Topps is the only one of the three makers that published dated baseball, football and basketball releases for this window on its own site, and even Topps' own pages disagreed on Flagship Basketball for a while. The useful habit is to check the calendar and the product page against each other, read the format line (mega boxes often ship later), and treat secondary dates, including every Panini date here, as provisional until the maker confirms them. We will update this page as dates move.
