2026 Topps Allen & Ginter Checklist, Odds and Box Guide
2026 Topps Allen & Ginter has a 300-card base set and two hits in every hobby box. Topps odds by format, Rip Cards, minis and what a value box holds.

2026 Topps Allen & Ginter is the 21st edition of the set, and it is on shelves: Topps Ripped ran a "2026 Allen & Ginter is here!" banner on October 10, 2026. Below is what Topps publishes about it: the checklist, the odds sheet with three box columns, and what the hobby and value boxes promise, all checked on October 10.
TL;DR: 300-card base set, 59 of them Rookie-tagged. Hobby: 24 packs of eight, "any 2" autograph, relic, printing plate or Rip Card hits per box (box art). Value: eight packs of six, 48 cards, no promised hit. The odds sheet has Fat Pack, Hobby and Value Box columns. Rip Cards are hobby-only at 1:81, Double Rip Cards 1:1,212, Cut Signatures 1:89,221 in hobby.

Overview
Topps describes 2026 Allen & Ginter as "the 21st edition of the classic set, built around a 300-card base checklist that blends current MLB stars with retired legends and non-sports personalities." Its collector guide on Topps Ripped names Aaron Judge as the headliner, "joined by rookies like Kevin McGonigle and Konnor Griffin," with Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg and Steve Aoki on the same checklist.
Two Topps PDFs carry the details. The official checklist runs 57 pages. The official odds sheet is three pages with one column each for Fat Pack, Hobby and Value Box. We read both with a PDF text extractor and counted the checklist lines ourselves; counts below marked "our count" are ours, not Topps'.

One thing we could not check: on October 10 the Topps product page returned a Cloudflare check to our browser, so the release date comes from secondary sources. We say so wherever it matters.
Analysis: what each 2026 Topps Allen & Ginter box guarantees
Topps' box guide, dated September 14, 2026, lists two formats. The box art adds the wording that matters most.
| Format | Packs x cards | What Topps promises |
|---|---|---|
| Hobby | 24 x 8 | "Look for any 2 of these cards in every box!" Autograph, relic, printing plate and Rip Cards |
| Value | 8 x 6 (48 cards) | Mini Base Cards, Full-Size Inserts, the retail-exclusive Gold Border Mini parallel |
The hobby box art lists "Autograph* cards, relic cards, printing plates & rip cards" under the "any 2" line. A printing plate or a Rip Card counts as one of the two hits, so two hits does not mean two autographs. The box guide's prose says hobby "includes Mini Base Cards, Full-Size Inserts, Autographs, and Rip Cards in every box," which reads stronger than the box art; we go by the box.
Pack count conflict. DK Network's preorder story listed hobby at "18 packs per box" and $139.99, and Cardlines also listed 18 packs. Topps' guide says "24 packs per box, eight cards per pack," and so does the side of the hobby box in Topps' product image. We use 24.

Price. DK Network reported preorder prices on Topps.com of $24.99 for the value box and $139.99 for hobby on September 8, 2026. Those are preorder prices from a secondary source, not release-day prices.

Analysis: 2026 Topps Allen & Ginter odds by format
The odds sheet has three columns: Fat Pack, Hobby and Value Box. A dash means the card is not in that format. Topps prints that "actual contents and odds may vary," and it does not say whether a ratio counts packs or boxes.
| Card (official odds sheet) | Fat Pack | Hobby | Value Box |
|---|---|---|---|
| Base Card Mini Sized | 1:1 | 1:2 | 1:3 |
| Mini Black Bordered | 1:5 | 1:10 | 1:10 |
| Mini Gold Bordered | 1:10 | - | 1:10 |
| Mini Brooklyn Back | 1:620 | 1:1,086 | 1:1,448 |
| Mini Wood | - | 1:10,453 | - |
| Mini Metals | - | 1:6,958 | - |
| Base Card Chrome Variation | 1:324 | 1:13 | 1:320 |
| Chrome Variation SuperFractor | 1:48,079 | 1:81,987 | 1:108,185 |
| Base Foil Filagree | 1:24 | 1:24 | 1:48 |
| Silver Portrait | - | 1:5 | - |
| Rookie Design Variations | 1:35 | 1:35 | 1:35 |
| Wicked Power | 1:2 | 1:3 | 1:3 |
| 50 Ways to Say Hello | 1:14 | 1:14 | 1:14 |
| Allen & Ginter Rip Cards | - | 1:81 | - |
| Allen & Ginter Double Rip Cards | - | 1:1,212 | - |
| Uniform Countdown | - | 1:8,818 | - |
| Mini Baseball Autographs (framed) | 1:205 | 1:67 | 1:555 |
| Mini Non-Baseball Autographs (framed) | 1:463 | 1:150 | 1:1,254 |
| Autographed Relic Cards | 1:1,746 | 1:927 | 1:4,397 |
| Relics Full Size A | 1:70 | 1:37 | 1:176 |
| Cut Signatures | 1:163,469 | 1:89,221 | 1:411,104 |
The sheet shows three patterns.
- Chrome is a hobby card. The Base Card Chrome Variation is 1:13 in hobby and about 1:320 in the two retail columns, roughly 25 times longer.
- Autographs lean hobby. Framed Mini Baseball Autographs are 1:67 in hobby against 1:555 in value boxes.
- Retail gets one exclusive. The Gold Border Mini shows a ratio only in the fat pack and value columns, which matches the box guide's "exclusive to retail formats."
The fat pack is on the sheet but not in the box guide, so Topps does not describe what a fat pack holds. We leave it out of the box table.
The Rip Card puzzle. The box art makes a Rip Card one of the possible "any 2" hits; the sheet gives 1:81 in hobby. Topps does not say what unit the ratio counts, so we do not turn it into "one Rip Card every X boxes."

Analysis: the 2026 Topps Allen & Ginter checklist in numbers
The checklist PDF lists the sets below. The counts are ours, from the text of the PDF.
| Checklist section | Cards (our count) | Notes from Topps |
|---|---|---|
| Base Cards | 300 | 59 tagged Rookie; 56 list no MLB club |
| Mini Exclusives | 50 | numbered 301 to 350 |
| Rip Cards | 200 | RIP-1 to RIP-200; numbered to 199 per the box guide |
| Double Rip Cards | 100 | two players per card; numbered to 50 |
| Wicked Power | 30 | "an all-new insert set spotlighting the game's biggest power hitters" |
| Mini 50 Ways to Say Hello | 50 | a greeting in a different language on every card |
| Mini Musical Methods | 20 | headphones to smartphone |
| Rookie Design Variations | 20 | RDV-1 Roman Anthony first |
| Uniform Countdown | 10 | "numbered to each player's uniform number" |
| Cut Signatures | 51 | "Each of the 51 Cut Signature cards is a one-of-one" |
| Full-Size Autographs | 3 | Barry Bonds, Kirk Gibson, Reggie Jackson |
| Carte de Visite Autographs | 60 |
The Rookie-tagged base cards start with Munetaka Murakami (5) and Owen Caissie (6). Justin Crawford is 49, Carson Benge 53 and Kyle Teel 61. Rookies also get their own Rip Cards: RIP-5 is Murakami and RIP-199 is Brady House.
Card image: Topps (Topps Ripped collector guide)
The non-baseball side is still on the base checklist. Our count finds 56 base cards with no MLB club printed on the line, from Anne Hathaway (126) and Jerry Seinfeld (194) to Bob Nightengale (39) and Tim Kurkjian (66). The new mini inserts are themed sets rather than players: Mini Musical Methods runs from MM-1 Headphones to MM-20 Smartphone, and Mini 50 Ways to Say Hello "teaches collectors a basic greeting in a different language on every card," per Topps.
Autographs. Topps' guide says "Only three Full-Size Autographs appear," Reggie Jackson, Barry Bonds and Kirk Gibson, each with "a Red Ink parallel limited to 10 copies." Mini Baseball Autographs are the largest autograph set on the checklist by our count; the guide calls the checklist "massive," and the PDF lists 180 lines under Mini Baseball Autographs I. Konnor Griffin has one, shown below in its Purple Frame version. Our guide to 2026 Topps Update Series rookies lists where Griffin and the rest of this rookie class sit in Flagship.

Community: what collectors are saying
One October 2026 thread on r/baseballcards was titled "Fanatics has killed Allen & Ginter." u/Fabulous-Setting-171 wrote: "Allen & Ginter without the weird stuff is just a worse Stadium Club. the whole appeal was pulling a card of like, the guy who holds the world record for largest collection of antique doorknobs" (comment). u/Skeeter5299 added: "They dropped the hits from 3 to 2 in 2025 and removed box loaders" (comment). Those are opinions. The checklist shows 56 non-MLB subjects in the base set and two themed mini sets, and the 2026 box art confirms two hits per hobby box.
Our take
Based on Topps' checklist, odds sheet and box art: hobby is the format built for this product's chase cards. Chrome variations, Rip Cards, Wood and Metal minis and most autographs are either hobby-only or far shorter in the hobby column. The value box is a 48-card set-building box with one exclusive parallel and no promised hit. The two-hit promise covers printing plates and Rip Cards too, so it is a weaker promise than "two autographs." We would also not plan around the 18-pack figure that circulated in preorder coverage: the box itself says 24.
Frequently Asked Questions
The six most common questions, release date, packs, hits, Rip Card odds, base set size and the value box, are answered in the FAQ block on this page.
When did 2026 Topps Allen & Ginter come out?
DK Network and Checklist Insider both give October 7, 2026 as the release date, and DK says Topps listed that date when preorders opened on September 8. On October 10 the Topps Ripped site carried the banner 2026 Allen & Ginter is here. We could not open the Topps product page that day.
How many packs are in a 2026 Allen & Ginter hobby box?
Topps' box guide on Topps Ripped and the box art both say 24 packs per box and eight cards per pack. DK Network and Cardlines listed 18 packs during preorders. RookieDesk uses 24 because it comes from Topps and is printed on the box itself.
How many hits are in a 2026 Allen & Ginter hobby box?
Two. The hobby box art says to look for any 2 of these cards in every box: autograph cards, relic cards, printing plates and Rip Cards. So a hit can be a printing plate or a Rip Card instead of an autograph. Value boxes do not promise a hit.
What are the odds of a Rip Card in 2026 Allen & Ginter?
The official Topps odds sheet lists Allen & Ginter Rip Cards at 1:81 and Double Rip Cards at 1:1,212, both in the hobby column only. Fat packs and value boxes show a dash, so Rip Cards are hobby-only. Topps' box guide says Single Rip Cards are numbered to 199 and Dual Rip Cards to 50.
How many cards are in the 2026 Allen & Ginter base set?
The base set has 300 cards. On the official checklist, 59 of them carry a Rookie tag, including Munetaka Murakami (5) and Carson Benge (53), and 56 list no MLB club, such as Anne Hathaway (126) and Jerry Seinfeld (194). Cards 301 to 350 are Mini Exclusives.
What is in a 2026 Allen & Ginter value box?
The value box says 48 trading cards: eight packs of six cards. Topps' box guide says it focuses on Mini Base Cards and Full-Size Inserts and has the retail-only Gold Border Mini parallel, listed at 1:10 in value boxes and fat packs and not at all in hobby.
How we checked this
Box formats from the Topps Ripped box guide and collector guide, read in a browser on October 10, 2026. Pack counts and the "any 2" wording read from Topps' own box images on that guide, downloaded in the browser and checked by eye. Odds and card lists from the two Topps PDFs, extracted with a PDF text reader. Release date and preorder prices from DK Network and Checklist Insider, labelled secondary.
