2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball has a 300-card base set with 45 rookie cards on Topps' own checklist, seven box formats and dozens of insert, autograph and relic sets. Here is the checklist counted line by line, with the release-date conflict laid out.

TL;DR: Topps' checklist PDF (file dated 10-9-26) has 300 base cards, rookies at 256 to 300, 29 insert lists, 14 autograph lists and 8 relic lists by our count. Topps Ripped lists seven formats, from a 20-pack hobby box with one autograph or relic to a 24-card fat pack. Street date is October 22 per Ripped and DK Network; Checklist Insider says November 5. No odds sheet yet as of October 10.

2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball: the short version (quick answer)

2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball is Topps' main NBA set for the season: 300 base cards, rookies numbered 256 to 300, and seven formats from hobby boxes to hanger and fat packs. Topps Ripped's box guide (September 28) gives an October 22, 2026 street date. Odds were not published as of October 10.

Key Takeaways

  • Base set: 300 cards, numbered 1 to 300 on Topps' checklist PDF.
  • Rookies: the checklist tags 45 base cards (256 to 300) as rookies; Topps Ripped's guide says 40.
  • Release date: October 22 per Topps Ripped and DK Network; November 5 per Checklist Insider (secondary). Unresolved as of October 10.
  • Formats: Hobby, Hobby Jumbo, Value, Mega, Fanatics Value, Hanger Pack and Fat Pack.
  • Hits: one autograph or relic per hobby box; one autograph and one relic per jumbo box (Ripped).
  • Odds: no Topps odds sheet found yet.

Overview

Topps Ripped's box guide sums up the base set as "300-card Base Set featuring 200 veterans, 40 rookies, 30 team combo cards, and 30 retired players." It also flags two firsts: "The set also includes the first LeBron James Sixers and Giannis Antetokounmpo Heat cards."

The checklist PDF linked from Topps' UK store page carries 10-9-26 in its file name and runs 57 pages. Card 1 is "Alex Sarr Washington Wizards" and card 300 is "Jaden Bradley Toronto Raptors Rookie." Like every Topps checklist, it carries the caveat that the list reflects "the intended configuration of that product at the time of production, but actual contents and odds may vary."

The release date is the open question. Ripped's guide says "Street date: October 22, 2026," and DK Network's October calendar (updated October 9) lists the product on October 22, with preorders opening "at 1 p.m. ET on October 6 ahead of the standard October 22 release." Checklist Insider gives "Release Date: November 5, 2026," with Mega on November 12. Our 2026 release calendar will carry whichever date Topps confirms in release week.

Analysis: the 2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball checklist in numbers

We extracted the checklist PDF's text and counted each section. The base set and its variations come first.

SectionCards (our count of the PDF)
Base Cards300 (1 to 300)
Base Cards Blackout300
Clear Variation100
Golden Mirror Image Variation I, II, III100 each

The Flagship Collection Base Cards90 (30 tagged Rookie)
The Flagship Collection Chrome Base Cards90

Ripped adds that the Clear Variations are "printed on acetate and numbered to 10," new for this year. Checklist Insider lists the Golden Mirror checklist as one 300-card list where the PDF has three lists of 100; it is the same total split differently. Ripped mentions Wood Variations, but we found no Wood section header in the PDF text.

Inserts. 29 insert lists by our count. Two are retro sets on the 1981-82 Topps Basketball design: "1981 82 Topps Basketball" and "1981 82 Topps Chrome Basketball." The rest include All Kings (24 cards in the extracted text, which has no AK-5), Bounce (25), Drivers (40), From the Vault (40), Limited Stock (50), New School (40), No Limit (40), Rookie Code (40), Scan and Slam (50), Stars of NBA (40) and a 16-card Oversized Topps Basketball Card set. Ripped says "All Kings adds Gold 1/1 cards for the first time in Topps Basketball," and Checklist Insider says Bounce "helps kick off the super short print (SSP) lineup." Our numbered cards guide explains what a Gold 1/1 means.

Autographs. 14 autograph lists, four of them on the 1981-82 design. The biggest are 1981-82 Topps Chrome Basketball Veteran Autographs (47), Flagship Real One Autograph (46), Game Script (46) and Contemporary Marks (45). Rookie-only lists include Flagship Real One Rookie Autograph (40), Rookie Photo Shoot Autographs (39), Rookie Photo Shoot Dual Autograph (20) and Rookie Pathway Signatures (20).

Relics. 8 relic sections: Flagship Real One Relic (50), Impact Relics, Rise to the Occasion Relics and Rookie Roundball Remnants (40 each), Flagship Real One Rookie Relic (38), Own the Game (37), and Franchise Fabrics and Woven Relics (20 each).

2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball rookies

The checklist tags 45 base cards as rookies, from "256 AJ Dybantsa Washington Wizards Rookie" to "300 Jaden Bradley Toronto Raptors Rookie." DK Network and Checklist Insider both name AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer, Caleb Wilson and Keaton Wagler as the headline rookies; Checklist Insider also notes "a new RC logo compared to last year."

To see which rookies Topps gave the most cards, we counted every line in the checklist text that names each base-set rookie, across base, parallels, variations, inserts, autographs and relics.

A line count measures how often a player appears on the checklist, not print runs or odds. The rookie count also differs between Topps' two documents: Ripped's guide says 40 rookies, the PDF tags 45. We go with the PDF, which Checklist Insider's 256 to 300 list matches. The separate 90-card Flagship Collection adds 30 more cards tagged Rookie.

Odds: what Topps has published so far

None yet. As of October 10, 2026 we found no 2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball odds sheet linked from Topps Ripped's box guide or listed by Checklist Insider; the Topps US store page blocked our browser that day. We will not estimate pull rates from openings. When Topps posts the sheet, this guide gets an odds table by format.

Community: what collectors are saying

The preorder thread on r/basketballcards (October 6) focused on format choice. u/ZucchiniTall844, who started the thread, wrote: "Hobby has a higher floor as well as exclusive SSPs that cannot be pulled from blasters and megas." (comment). That lines up with Ripped's note that Victory parallels and Player Number Variations "are exclusive to the Hobby Box."

Our take

Based on Topps' checklist and Ripped's box guide: this is a big set with a clear format split. The hobby box is the only place for Victory parallels and Player Number Variations, the jumbo is the only place for Sandglitter and adds a second hit, and each retail format has its own parallel. The 45 rookie base cards and 14 autograph lists give rookie collectors plenty of names, led by Dybantsa, Peterson, Boozer and Wilson at 43 checklist lines each. Two things are not settled as of October 10: the release date (October 22 or November 5) and the odds. Check both on the Topps page before you buy.
